Rensselaerville State Forest is a good example for softwood plantation management and has a variety of treatments that have occurred over the years (strip cuts, intermediate thinning, overstory removals, etc.) and ongoing work.

Beebe Hill State Forest is primarily hardwoods which recently had an intermediate thinning to prepare for the regeneration harvest.
