CNY-NYFOA Luncheon meeting at the Great Swamp Conservancy in Canastota

February 26th, 11am to 1pm

Mr. Bryan Ellis will speak about Carbon & Forest Land Owners New York has recently released the Climate Leadership and Community Protections Act scoping plan with forestry recommendations aimed at increasing sequestration in forests across the state. Recommendations include extensive afforestation to create new forests, and reforestation and improved forest management initiatives to work toward improving the health and sequestration potential within the state's current forest areas. We will briefly discuss the science of forest carbon sequestration and an introduction to carbon markets and opportunities for forest landowners.

Since we are hoping to coordinate and broaden future activities with other nature-related clubs in our area, we would welcome those club members to join CNY-NYFOA members for a "bring a dish to share" luncheon and chapter meeting on February 26 at the Great Swamp Conservancy at 8375 Main Street, Canastota. NY.
