DESCRIPTION:The New York Forest Owners Association’s Northern Adirondack Chapter\nannounces its second Woodswalk of the 2026 season\, to be held at 45608 Landon\nRd\, Wellesley Island NY in Jefferson County on Saturday July 25\, 2026. Our hosts\nDarrel and Judy Rippeteau will show us the effects of an eight-foot deer exclusion\nfence on plant growth. Participants will see firsthand the progress created over\nthree years\, as wildflowers\, native grasses and desired tree species have taken\nhold and continue to thrive in this setting. Darrel will further explain his efforts to\ncompost forest cuttings and display his ongoing garden projects.\nThis is an easy walking\, minimal effort event limited to 20 participants\ncommencing at 10:00am. Lunch will be served overlooking the American channel\nof the St. Lawrence Seaway at the conclusion of this approximately two-hour\nevent. Bathroom facilities are available on site.
